Welcome

The DisAbled Recreation Club is a non-for-profit organisation that encourages people with disabilities to lead an active and fun lifestyle filled with a mix of sporting, recreational, leisure and social activities.

Our aim is two fold. The first aim is to hold our own unique events many of which will utilise a series of custom designed recreational equipment which is being produced through a collaboration between Dreamfit and mechanical engineering students at the University of Western Australia. Examples of such equipment include a hand controlled motorcycle that can be ridden by a paraplegic and wheelchair accessible ski boats and hovercrafts.

Secondly we want to encourage further collaboration and partnerships between the many existing disabled organisations such as Wheelchair Sports, Disabled Surfers Association, RAPID, Riding for the Disabled, WA Disabled Sports Association, Sailability and so forth. Alliances and cooperation will ensure that the limited resources available are utilised to maximum benefit.
